How to download X videos on Android
Android makes this easy because Chrome can save files straight to your phone. You don't need a separate app, and once you've set up the shortcut below it takes about two taps.
The quick way: copy and paste
- In the X app, open the post with the video. Tap the share icon (the arrow under the post) and choose Copy link.
- Open xpostdownloader.com in Chrome and tap Paste. The video's preview and sizes appear in a second or two.
- Tap the green Best button for the sharpest copy, or a smaller size if you're short on data or storage.
- Chrome shows a download bar at the bottom. Tap Open to watch it right away.
The faster way: add it to your share menu
In Chrome, open this site, tap the three-dot menu and choose Add to Home screen (on some phones it says Install app). From then on, X Post Downloader shows up in Android's share sheet. In the X app, tap share on any post, pick X Post Downloader, and the video loads by itself with nothing to paste.
Where do the files go?
Downloads land in the Downloads folder. Open the Files app (or My Files on Samsung) and look under Downloads. Google Photos and most gallery apps also pick them up, sometimes after a minute.
If something goes wrong
- "Could not load that post": the account may be protected, the post deleted, or X may be limiting it to signed-in users. Only public posts work.
- Nothing downloads: check Chrome's site settings and make sure downloads aren't blocked, and that your phone has free storage.
- The video plays instead of saving: use the buttons on this site rather than long-pressing the video in X.
Ready? Open X Post Downloader and paste your link.
